Let's Dig In.

Would you believe that a high school teacher is the reason people recognize LGBT History Month? It’s true! In 1994, Rodney Wilson gathered a group of educators to develop this opportunity to highlight LGBT History. Since then, many countries across the globe honor LGBT History Month. This GEM will help you understand the importance of LGBT History Month and provide you with a starting point for learning some fascinating and powerful LGBT history! It will also provide you with several actions you can take to show your support of LGBT History Month in your organization. By completing this GEM, you will be able to:

  • Explain why LGBT History is celebrated.

  • Identify some notable LGBT people and events throughout US history.

  • Plan ways as a company to support the LGBT community and its history in October and beyond.

  • Add an exclusive credential to LinkedIn and other platforms.
